SIGMA ALPHA

Founded only a mere 40 years ago, Sigma Alpha came about on January 26, 1978. Five students of Ohio State came together to create the sorority in hopes to promote it's members' roles in agriculture.

The founders named Sigma Alpha for "Sisters in Agriculture". Although a smaller sorority, in the span of 40 years it has expanded to 60 collegiate chapters and more than 11,000 members.

Sigma Alpha is a part of Professional Fraternity Association, which is an organization of Greek letter organizations. This sorority is affiliated with Agriculture in the Classroom, and also belongs to Consortium of Collegiate Agricultural Organizations.
