National Panhellenic Conference
The National Panhellenic Conference is an umbrella organization for 26 national women's sororities throughout the United States and Canada. The members of the National Panhellenic Conference are 26 inter/national sororities. They are private, women’s-only social member organizations. They have collegiate chapters across the U.S. and Canada. Sorority alumnae live and are organized across the globe.
NPC also has two affiliated organizations: College Panhellenic Associations and Alumnae Panhellenic Associations.
College Panhellenics are formed when there are two or more active NPC member organization chapters on a campus. They are based on democratic principles and facilitate cooperation among sororities.
Alumnae Panhellenics are made up of alumnae representatives of NPC member organizations, and typically meet based on geographic location. Examples of Alumnae Panhellenic activities include social events, promoting scholarship, fundraising, community service or hosting informational and educational events for potential new members.
NPC is one of the largest organizations advocating for women. NPC sororities are located on 670 campuses with nearly 370,000 undergraduate members in more than 3,350 collegiate chapters. Alumnae are represented in more than 3,400 associations throughout the world.
