THETA PHI ALPHA

Found on August 30, 1912, Theta Phi Alpha began out of a local Catholic sorority called Omega Upsilon. Collegiates and alumnae of this Catholic sorority came together to organize Theta Phi for many months, and even merged with Pi Lambda Sigma, another Catholic women's fraternity. Although Theta Phi started as a sorority for Catholic women, as of 1968 they opened their doors to all women.

The founders of Theta Phi Alpha consisted of eight alumnae and two undergraduates of the University. Together these women worked together in choosing the flower, jewels and colors of Theta Phi.

The Theta Phi Alpha Foundation is in charge of all the philanthropic causes. There are three main organizations Theta Phi is associated with, and they are Glenmary Home Missioners, Camp Friendship, and The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built.

Make sure to plan ahead and get your JennaBenna Theta Phi Alpha Founder’s Day sorority shirt before August 30 so that you can join in the celebration of the fraternity's summer founding.
