SIGMA PHI LAMBDA
Sigma Phi Lambda was founded in Austin, Texas back in 1988. Initially it was part of a movement in it's time to establish Christian sororities when the Evangelical Christian movement was on the rise. Since it's founding, Sigma Phi Lambda has helped spread the idea of Christian Greek Organizations and now has 32 chapters across the U.S.
Founded by five students at the University of Texas, Sigma Phi Lambda has grown rapidly all across the country and has well over 100 sisters nationwide. A group of men have founded Kappa Upsilon Chi as a counterpart after the Texas Tech University chapter of Sigma Phi Lambda was founded, as well as Kappa Upsilon Chi at the same campus.
As of 2010, Sigma Phi Lambda partnered with World Vision as they are involved with many types of ministry all over the world. World Vision dedicates their organization in helping children and families all over the world by tackling poverty and injustice.
