ALPHA SIGMA TAU
Alpha Sigma Tau was founded on November 4, 1899 at Michigan State Normal College by eight women. The sorority did not have any marked activity during the first year, however the proceeding year the charter was finally received after seven more members joined, including three new patronesses.
In 1926, Alpha Sigma Tau was founded as an educational sorority and joined the Association of Education Sororities. 20 years following, in 1947, Alpha Sigma Tau became a Panhellenic group after merging with the National Panhellenic Conference.
Alpha Sigma Tau is partnered with Women's Wellness Initiative. This initiative helps to empower members to improve women's wellness through activities and projects.
