ALPHA SIGMA ALPHA
Alpha Sigma Alpha was founded on November 15, 1901 at the Virginia State Female Normal School. Initially, this sorority was exclusively for teacher's/educational colleges, but as of 1951 after becoming a full member of the National Panhellenic Conference, it allows members without and limits based on major.
Founded by five friends, Alpha Sigma Alpha quickly expanded to 13 chapters in the very first decade! Today there are now over 120,000 members and 170 collegiate & alumnae chapters.
The sorority's Foundation is partnered with the S. June Smith Center, the Special Olympics, and Girls on the Run. Two of these focus on helping disabled families, while Girls on the Run promotes healthy mental and physical habits by exercise in preteen girls.
Make sure to plan ahead and get your JennaBenna Alpha Sigma Alpha Founder’s Day sorority shirt before November 15 so that you can join in the celebration of the sorority's fall founding.
